So yesterday I was sitting on my couch trying to figure out who balled out during last week’s Broncos vs Seahawks game. Wanted those player stats real quick, but damn it wasn’t easy at first.
The Google Struggle
Started by just googling “Broncos Seahawks stats” like a regular person. Got flooded with junk sites wanting me to sign up or pay money. Annoying as hell. Clicked three different links before realizing they all wanted my credit card for basic stats!
The Lightbulb Moment
Remembered sports fans share info for free in forums. Hopped onto Reddit r/nfl. Scrolled past memes until finding the post-game thread – goldmine! Some guy named u/SeahawkStatsDude posted:
Top 3 performers according to his “eye test”:
- Geno Smith: 35 passes, 2 TDs
- Courtland Sutton: 8 catches, 110 yards
- Kenneth Walker III: 75 rush yards
Free Stats Treasure
Found the weekly NFL thread pinned at the top. Total mess at first glance – hundreds of comments! Filtered by “best” comments and found this hero who pasted the box score in plain text. Copied it into my notes app:
Key stats that jumped out:
- Broncos QB sacked 4 times – ouch
- Seahawks with 12 penalties – yikes
- No interceptions by either team – boring
Took maybe 20 minutes total once I stopped wasting time on paid sites. Moral of the story? Always check the fan communities first. They’ll hook you up with the good stuff faster than any “premium” service.
