So I was chilling yesterday when my buddy Raj messages me asking about the Delhi Capitals versus Gujarat Titans standings. Man, I used to just Google this stuff, but half the sites are cluttered with ads or show outdated numbers. Time to do this properly.
The Annoying Search Begins
First, I grabbed my laptop and fired up the browser. Went straight to that big search site we all use, typed in “IPL points table” like usual. Crap – first three links were news articles from last week’s matches. Useless.
I remembered the official IPL site usually has it. Clicked the third link hoping it was legit. Loaded slow as hell! Saw the standings page but scrolled down… no team names, just blank spaces where Delhi and Gujarat should be. Refreshed five times like an idiot. Numbers kept disappearing like magic. Gave up after 10 minutes. 🙄
Trying Apps Instead
Okay, mobile app time. I have two cricket apps – the popular one with a blue logo and that other one with orange. Opened the blue one first:
- Clicked “Standings” tab – saw Rajasthan Royals on top (lucky them)
- Searched for “Delhi Capitals”… took me to their squad page. Argh!
- Went back, scrolled manually. Gujarat Titans was right there… at number 7? That can’t be right.
Switch to the orange app:
- Standings page loads fast for once!
- Saw Delhi Capitals sitting 6th with 10 points. Made sense after their last loss.
- Scrolled up… Gujarat Titans? 8th place, only 8 points? Man, Hardik leaving hit ’em hard.
Double-checked the dates – stats updated yesterday. Finally!
Quick Result Breakdown
So here’s the deal right now:
- Delhi Capitals: Played 12 games, won 5, lost 7. 10 points total. Net Run Rate -0.316. Sitting at 6th.
- Gujarat Titans: Played 12 games too, only 4 wins, 8 losses. 8 points. Net Run Rate -1.063. Yeah, bottom of the table at 8th.
Kinda rough for both honestly. Playoff dreams looking shaky!
My Takeaway Lesson
Stick with live updated apps next time. Better yet – avoid checking during matches. Server traffic always breaks stuff. That orange app worked fastest today… for now. Who knows tomorrow? Always cross-check! 😅 And man… poor Gujarat.
