Starting My Quest for the Perfect NFL Score Tracker
Alright so preseason was heating up and I kept forgetting which games I’d watched. Last Tuesday I grabbed my coffee and told myself: “Enough of scribbling scores on napkins – time to find a proper checklist.” Started by googling 2024 NFL score tools on my phone while waiting at the mechanic shop. Big mistake – my screen flooded with ads pretending to be apps.
Testing the Messy Options
First I downloaded that “Pro Football Tracker” everyone talks about. Opened it up and bam! Subscription popup before I could even click anything. Tried checking Thursday Night Football scores but the live updates froze like three times. Uninstalled before halftime. Next day I tested the spreadsheet templates from that football forum. Copied some Google Sheets thing with 20 tabs. Got confused about where to put Titans vs Dolphins scores and accidentally deleted the AFC column. Total chaos.
My Top Three Contenders
After wasting a weekend I got serious. Made a list:
- The Blue Clipboard App: Simple but ugly. Liked how it showed scores vertically with big checkboxes. Couldn’t figure out how to add injury notes though.
- Gridiron Notes: That yellow one with the whistle logo. Actually let me scribble penalties next to each game. But no team logos and the backup crashed when I added overtime scores.
- ScoreKeeper’s Pocketbook: Almost didn’t try this because the name sounds lame. Surprise winner! Let me do three things I needed:
Why Pocketbook Won My Season
First thing Monday night I tested ScoreKeeper during Eagles vs Packers. What clicked: It remembered my Bears games automatically. When Watson threw that interception, I could instantly tap and mark turnovers. No loading circle nonsense. Best part? That little calculator icon that adds points differentials by itself – total lifesaver during fantasy drafts. Only weird thing: the app icon looks like a real pocketbook. Kinda embarrassing on my home screen but whatever.
Ended up customizing their playoff template with my own emojis. Still miss pen-and-paper sometimes but my grocery list stopped getting mixed up with Browns vs Bengals scores. Lesson learned? Simpler is better. Now if they’d just fix that ugly icon…
