This lineup hunt started because I got a text from my buddy Marco – dude was freaking out about betting on Monterrey’s wingers. He needed that starting eleven ASAP. Me? I just wanted to know if we’d actually see Funes Mori tonight.
First I hit up Twitter. Scrolled through like twenty accounts tagged #AtletiSLP and #Rayados. Mostly found hype videos and trash talk in Spanish. One dude posted a fake lineup photo that looked legit until I spotted Messi’s name – yeah right. Waste of fifteen minutes.
Next I tried those generic sports apps. Big mistake. The “probable lineups” section showed formations from LAST MONTH’S match. Got excited seeing Ortiz listed for Monterrey till I remembered he transferred weeks ago. Why do they even keep that crap updated?
Then I did what always works before Liga MX games: checked the club’s damn Instagram Stories thirty minutes before kickoff. Boom – Monterrey’s account posted their graphic with players all shiny in home whites. Took screenshots with my greasy popcorn fingers.
For Atletico San Luis? Their Twitter admin dropped the formation in a tweet thread buried under gameday hype. Almost missed it between the emoji spam. Had to translate three Mexican slang words I didn’t know.
Double-checked everything on FotMob when the lineups went live. Saw Güemez starting for Monterrey – told Marco to bet on that yellow card risk. Dude actually owes me tacos now.
Whole process took under an hour but felt longer. Moral? Don’t trust aggregators. Stalk the team accounts 30-45 mins before start time. And never trust that Messi lineup guy.
