Okay, deep breath. Went back to basics. Who just plays fundamental, tough defense regardless? Browns, Cowboys, Bills – but Bills playing Commanders? Eh. Saw a blurb about the Eagles D-line waking up. Buccaneers? At home against the Packers. Green Bay looked shaky last week. Decent option.
Final crunch. Sat there trying to remember my own damn players. In one league I have the Commanders. In another? Just the Buccaneers. Do I roll with Tampa, or chase a waiver wire guy? Checked waivers… slim pickings this late. Saw the Lions were still free? Maybe… but nah. Trusted the Commanders matchup against the Cardinals more than Tampa confusing me. Went with Washington in that league. Stuck with the Bucs in the other. Who cares about tiers? Just give me points.
My final thoughts as of kickoff? Still a gamble. Always is with defense. But I leaned hard on looking at who the opponent is, not just the defense itself. If the other team can’t move the ball, your defense gets chances. Simple math.
- Lions/Buccaneers? Steady points maybe if you have ’em.
- Commanders? High ceiling against Arizona’s mess.
- Browns? Still legit beasts.
- Bills? Always solid but tough matchup.
- Avoid the Jets. Just… trust me.
