Alright folks, buckle up. Woke up this morning buzzing about the MLB slate – gotta dig into those May 28th, 2025 games, right? Coffee in hand, spread out my notes on the kitchen table, just like every gameday morning. Started scrolling through the overnight lines and the early buzz. Goal today: find two, maybe three solid plays. Gotta be disciplined.
First thing, zeroed in on the pitching matchups. That’s where it usually starts for me. Saw Houston sending out young Rodriguez against Seattle’s Kirby. Rodriguez looked shaky his last two outings… velocity dipped. Kirby, though? Consistently around the strike zone, low walks. Checked the venue… T-Mobile Park isn’t exactly hitter-friendly. Felt like Seattle might be a solid underdog pick. Marked that down.
Next up, that Yankees/Mets subway series game. Always loud. Cashman was pitching for NY, Tanaka for the Mets. Cashman coming off a complete game shutout? Yeah, momentum matters. Yankees lineup looked stacked too – three guys hitting over .300 lately. Even with the rivalry nerves, felt like the Yankees moneyline had value. Added that one to my shortlist.
Wanted a total… scrolled down. Saw Detroit at Chicago White Sox. Both starters sporting ERAs north of 4.50. Dug deeper… checked recent bullpen stats. Yikes. Both pens had blown saves like it was going out of style last week. Over 9 runs? Seemed almost too obvious, but the stats screamed it. Felt good about locking in that OVER.
Okay, time to commit. Went back over my three picks:
- Seattle Mariners ML (Against Houston)
- New York Yankees ML (At Mets)
- DET @ CWS OVER 9 Runs
Put the bets in early afternoon, about 3 hours before first pitch. Way I see it, you find what looks good, trust your research, and pull the trigger. Can’t second-guess forever. Grabbed a snack and settled in to watch the chaos unfold.
Early games kicked off. Yankees jumped on Tanaka quick – two runs first inning. Good start. Seattle game? Tense… pitchers’ duel early. Rodriguez actually looked decent… damn it. Then boom! Seattle scrapes one across in the 5th, Kirby holds strong. Mariners win a nail-biter 2-1. One win locked.
Yankees held on, Cashman pitched well enough, and the bats did just enough. Win number two.
Now that over? White Sox got lit up early, Detroit clawed back… 5-5 heading into the 7th. Felt it in my gut. Sure enough, both bullpens imploded. Hit that over 9 by the 8th inning easy. Sweep! All three landed.
Ended the night feeling sharp. Just proves – stick to the process. Check the arms, check the trends, check the park, see where the value actually is. Don’t chase crazy parlays. Find solid spots and go. Back at it tomorrow morning, bright and early. See ya then.
