Getting Ready for the Roster Grind
Woke up extra early today cause MLB The Show 24 roster drops are like Christmas morning for us baseball nerds. Grabbed my lukewarm coffee and fired up the PlayStation. Knew I had to check before heading to work – these updates change everything for my franchise mode run.
My Roster Check Routine
First thing I always do is mash that triangle button to open the main menu. Scrolled straight to the “Roster” option like I do every Friday. Saw the little green update notification blinking and got that sweet dopamine hit. Patch notes popped up showing all the adjustments:
- Ohtani’s pitching stats tanked after that rough start
- Rookie pitchers got nasty new breaking balls
- My boy Julio Rodriguez finally got his power boost
Spent twenty minutes digging into the changes like a detective. Went team by team using the filter tools to spot rating jumps. Had my sticky notes ready to mark which bargain players to snag for my squad. Noticed lots of bullpen tweaks this week – guess closers been choking hard lately.
Testing the New Meta
Jumped into quick play vs CPU with my updated Rockies save. Immediately felt the difference when facing that rookie Cardinals pitcher – his slurve made my hitters look silly. New animations definitely kicked in during double plays too. Got smacked around but who cares? Fresh stats mean fresh gameplay.
Gotta crash now – pulling double duty tomorrow grinding conquest mode with these new rosters. But hey, that’s why we put in the work right? See y’all next update.
