Phil Mickelson Masters Records See His Amazing Stats at Augusta

Man, digging into Phil Mickelson’s Masters stats was something I decided to do this morning. Wanted to see just how crazy his record at Augusta really is, you know? Didn’t expect some of these numbers though. Crazy stuff.

Where It All Started

First thing I did was grab my laptop, found that Masters records site everyone uses. Searched for “Phil Mickelson”. Boom, his entire tournament history popped up right there. Started scrolling way down – his first Masters was back in, what, 1991? Dude was just a kid then.

The Near Misses Sting

Checked those years before he finally won. Man, it hurt just looking at it:

Phil Mickelson Masters Records See His Amazing Stats at Augusta

  • 1996: Third place. Right there sniffing the jacket.
  • 2001 and 2002: BAM! Third place AGAIN both times? Oh come on!
  • 2003: Almost… got… it… finished third… YET AGAIN!

Felt like screaming for him. So many close calls, musta been agony back then. Kept thinking, “When’s this guy gonna catch a break here?”

FINALLY! The Jacket Fits

Then hit the 2004 records. FINALLY! His first major win, right at Augusta. Saw the winning score. Remembered that putt on 18? Goosebumps. Went back to check the detailed stats that year. His putting was insane, especially inside 10 feet. Clutch city.

But Phil being Phil, he couldn’t just win once, right? Kept scrolling:

  • 2006: Won again! Another green jacket.
  • 2010: Unbelievable! Win number three at Augusta. That shot from the pine straw on 13? Absolute madness. Watched the highlight right there at my desk. Still ridiculous.

Finding the Big Numbers

Got curious about the overall stats now. Looked for the totals:

  • Starts: Played in, like, 30 Masters? That’s a whole career just at Augusta!
  • Top 5 Finishes: Found this number – ELEVEN times in the top five. Are you kidding me? Eleven!
  • Top 10 Finishes: FIFTEEN! More than half the times he played.

Scratched my head at that. Consistently amazing there for decades.

The Crazy 2024 Run

Almost forgot last year! He was OLD. Checked the 2024 stats. Made the cut at 50-something? Then played unreal over the weekend. Finished tied for second? Tied for SECOND? How? How does he keep doing this at Augusta when everyone else fades? His course knowledge is just next level.

Leaned back in my chair. All these years, all those clutch moments. His record isn’t just good; it’s sneaky legendary. Augusta National owns guys, but Phil? Somehow he turned the place into his personal playground. Wild.
